SINGAPORE, 15 November 2016 – The Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology of Singapore (SCCPS) will once again be organising this year's Globe-athon event, as part of the Global Initiative to raise awareness for Women's Cancer. The Fight Against Women's Cancer event aims to reach out to and educate more women on the importance of the dual strategy of prevention via screening and vaccination for cervical cancer and also raise awareness on ovarian cancer.
With the success from last year's indoor work out session and talks, SCCPS is hoping to create a bigger buzz by holding it at OCBC Arena and hopes to attract over 500 women, men and children to come out and take on this cause!
Globe-athon is an indoor 1-day event with a 3-hour exercise program women. Activities include Zumba, KPOP Xercise and Piloxing integrated with public talks by our doctors on Cervical Cancer: screening with Pap smear and HPV tests, prevention through vaccination; and Ovarian Cancer: the silent killer, prevention and new treatment strategies.
